HC Deb 21 July 1924 vol 176 c903W
Mr. D. G. SOMERVILLE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether the recent reports from his representatives abroad have indicated any inability of British goods to compete with similar foreign exports; and, if so, in what respect and for what reason?

Mr. LUNN

I am continually receiving from the overseas representatives of my Department detailed reports as to the competition which British goods have to meet in the various markets of the world. These reports cover a very wide range of commodities and countries, and it is not possible to summarise them within the limits of an answer to a Parliamentary question, but the information is communicated confidentially by my Department to the trades concerned.
