§ Mr. RUSSELLasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether his attention has been called to the case of William Riley, North Shields, an applicant for an old age pension; whether he is aware that a pension was allowed by the local pensions committee but refused by the Customs and Excise Department, on the ground that there is no evidence of the claimant's age; and whether, having regard to the special circumstances of the case and the difficulty of securing such evidence, he will reconsider this claim?
