HC Deb 16 July 1924 vol 176 c399W
Sir B. FALLE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether there are any naval cookery officers borne for the service afloat who have not served in sea-going ships since promotion to warrant rank; and whether cookery officers who have not served afloat since promotion to arrant rank will be given an opportunity to do so, in view of the importance of their being fully acquainted with the modern methods and requirements of cooking in His Majesty's ships forming fleets and squadrons?

Mr. AMMON

The appointments of cookery officers are, in common with those of other branches, dependent on the requirements of the service, and all are liable to serve afloat. Subject to this, the answer to both parts of the question is in the affirmative.
