HC Deb 16 July 1924 vol 176 c397W
Mr. HEALY

asked the Home Secretary if he can say, having regard to the fact that the waters of Belfast Lough was a reserved service under the Government of Ireland Act, 1920, which Department exercises control there?

Mr. HENDERSON

There is no provision in the Act reserving control over the waters of Belfast Lough. The Act includes among the reserved mattersnavigation, including merchant shipping except as respects the regulation of harbours and local health regulations. Such matters relating to navigation and merchant shipping as are reserved by this provision are dealt with by the Board of Trade.
