§ Lieut. - Colonel HOWARD - BURYasked the Postmaster-General whether he can take steps to expedite the parcel-post services between this country and the Irish Free State; and whether he is aware that, although the train and sea journey takes under 12 hours, it takes five days for parcels to reach their destination?
1989W
§ Mr. HARTSHORNParcel mails for the. Irish Free State are forwarded from this country without delay, and as a rule, a parcel arrives in Ireland on the day after posting. It is probable that the delay to which the hon. and gallant Member refers may occur in connection with the Customs examination. If he will let me have particulars of any case he has in mind I will have inquiry made.
