§ Mr. LEACHThe answer to the first part of the question is, £585 per annum; and to the second part, £595 7s. per annum. As regards the last part of the question, the termination of the appointment of the former official, who had no ex-service qualifications, was a measure of substitution and was in pursuance of the recommendations of Lord Lytton's Committee.
