HC Deb 27 February 1924 vol 170 c501W
Mr. BECKER

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how much money has been spent to date upon the palace of the High Commissioner of (Iraq) Mesopotamia; and does he propose to allow further payments?

Mr. THOMAS

Full particulars as to the cost of the Residency of His Majesty's High Commissioner at Bagdad were given by the late Government, in reply to a question in this House, on the 28th November, 1922. The whole of the expenditure under this head has been brought to account, except a sum of £37 which will be charged to the Vote for 1923–24. Further expenditure is not contemplated except in connection with furnishing and maintenance.
