§ Mr. SHAWThe silk workers registered as unemployed on the 4th February at the Macclesfield and Congleton Employment Exchanges numbered 634 and 251, and those claiming unemployment benefit in respect of systematic1808W short time, 32 and 53 respectively. With regard to the second part of the question, the Government is taking all practicable steps to assist a revival in trade, which is the only effectual way of finding employment for workpeople in their own industries.
