§ Miss BONDFIELDI am not aware that men 43 years of age are being denied work because of their age at the works mentioned. My right hon. Friend, strictly speaking, has no authority to interfere with the discretion of private employers in engaging workpeople, but I will make inquiry in case the complaint arises from some misunderstanding which can be removed.
