§ Mr. LANSBURYasked the Home Secretary whether he will give the House statistics showing in which countries capital punishment has been abolished, in which countries during recent years this punishment has been in abeyance although still on the Statute Book, what alternative punishments have been adopted in both groups, and the amount of crime in the various countries both before capital punishment was abolished or disused compared with those countries in which capital punishment is still in operation?
