HC Deb 02 May 1923 vol 163 c1413W
Mr. LANSBURY

asked the Minister of Pensions whether all grants for diet allowances and attendance allowances for tuberculous men have been withdrawn; and, if so, what other allowances in substitution of these have been granted to the men concerned?

Major TRYON

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. An extra allowance for special diet is still granted in cases of pulmonary tuberculosis where the circumstances justify the concession; and a constant attendance allowance may be granted if, in addition to being assessed at the 100 per cent. rate of disablement, the man is so helpless as to require another person to be constantly in attendance on him.
