The aggregate values of the imports of articles of food and drink into the United Kingdom during the years specified were as follow:

Year. Value.

Particulars of the quantities of the various articles imported are given for the years 1913, 1919, 1920 and 1921 on pages 12 to 20 of the "Annual Statement of the Trade of the United Kingdom "for 1921, Volume I, and such particulars of quantities imported during 1922 as are at present available are given on pages .9 to 32 of the "Accounts relating to Trade and Navigation "for December, 1922. The reference number of the latter paper is H.C. 26—XI. The particulars of quantity are not stated in terms of weight in a number of cases, and I am, accordingly, not in a position to furnish for each year a single figure of the aggregate quantity imported.
