§ Mr. BOWERMANasked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware of the urgent necessity for reducing the postal rates, especially on printed matter; and whether, in order to diminish unemployment in sections of the printing and allied industries and also stimulate the general trade of the country, he will take steps for this purpose as soon as possible?
§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKSI regret that I am not at present in a position to make any statement as to reduction of postal rates. I can only say that the matter is receiving my careful consideration.
