§ Sir H. BRITTAINasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been called to the defective binding of the last edition of the London Telephone Directory; and whether he will endeavour to rectify the defect in subsequent issues?
§ Mr. BALDWINThe London Telephone Directory is now being bound by machinery at a considerable saving in cost and a considerable gain in expedition, and while the result is generally very satisfactory, it is difficult to secure that every copy turned out is perfect. Any defective copies issued are, of course, replaced, and with further experience it is hoped to reduce such copies to a negligible quantity.
