§ Viscount WOLMERThe total number of boxes of bacon held in stock in this country, or due to arrive, on the 31st March, 1921, on account of the Food Department of the Board of Trade was 113,119. These boxes represent only a portion of the total stock for which the Department was responsible at the date mentioned, and were valued in the account for the year ended 31st March, 1921, at the amounts subsequently realised. The financial result of these operations is included in the Trading Account for 1921–22, which has been presented to the House of Commons and will be reviewed in due course by the Public Accounts Committee.
