THORNEasked the Minister of Health why he is pressing upon the Tilbury Urban District Council to increase the rent of the various houses under their control by several shillings per week; if he is aware that 90 per cent. of the adult population are casual workers and the average wage is less than £2 per week; and if he will take action in the matter?
§ Lord E. PERCYAs my right hon. Friend explained to the hon. Member for Westhoughton (Mr. Rhys Davies), in answer to a question on the 11th instant, he has already taken action in this matter by having the question in dispute referred for decision to the independent Rent Tribunal.
