§ Major BOYD-CARPENTERThe estimated total amount proposed to be spent on Singapore naval base is £10,500,000. £160,000 is provided in the current Navy Estimates, and it is anticipated that £260,000 will be required in 1924–25. Thereafter, the annual expenditure will be governed by circumstances. No date has yet been settled for the completion of the works.
