HC Deb 02 August 1923 vol 167 c1723W
Mr. HAYDAY

asked the Financial Secretary to the Admiralty whether he will consider the possibility of recommending a revision of the existing Superannuation Acts covering employés in the dockyards which would enable odd months of service to be counted for pension and bonus instead of confining the calculation to completed years; and whether he will consider the possibility of reducing the period for hired men to qualify for bonus from 15 to seven years?

Major BOYD-CARPENTER

As no doubt the hon. Member is aware, the Superannuation Acts apply to the Civil Service as a whole, and I am not prepared to recommend that exceptional treatment in the direction suggested be accorded to employes in the dockyards.
