HC Deb 02 August 1923 vol 167 c1725W
Sir A. HOLBROOK

asked (1) the Under-Secretary of State for War if he is aware that a temporary officer recently arrived from Iraq, on completion of nine years' service, was demobilised without a day's leave of absence, and that a long service officer, who was 19 years in India without leave, has also been demobilised without the concession of a day's leave; whether he will issue instructions that temporary officers have the privilege of a short leave before demobilisation;

(2) the Financial Secretary to the War Office what is the authority which precludes an officer holding a temporary commission obtaining a short period of leave prior to demobilisation?

Mr. GWYNNE

I will look into the matters raised, and communicate privately with the hon. and gallant Member as soon as possible.
