§ Mr. R. YOUNG
asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport whether his attention has been called to the growing practice of the railway companies in recent years of charging from 1d to 3d. for platform tickets to people seeing their friends away on a railway journey; how many railway companies are now charging for platform tickets; and what is the income from this source to these railway companies in the years 1920, 1921, and 1922?
§ Colonel ASHLEY
I am aware of the practice to which the hon. Member refers, but I have no information as to the number of railway companies which have adopted it, or what income is derived from this source, as such income is not shown separately in the annual accounts of the railway companies.
