HC Deb 17 April 1923 vol 162 cc1901-2W

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, whether any steps have been taken to inquire into cases of piracy against British and Canadian schooners on the high seas of New Jersey and Long Island coasts; whether any such cases have been established by reliable evidence; and what action it is proposed to taken the matter?

I must refer the hon. Member to the replies which I gave him on the 11th and 12th inst. We have no' information as to the occurrence of any incident of this kind beyond what has appeared in the Press. The matter does not appear to call for any action.
