§ Sir M. BARLOWAs regards the first part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to my statement in Debate on the Vote on Account of the 8th March, and to that of the 30th November in the Debate on the Address. As regards the last part, the number of workpeople directly employed is now estimated to be about 150,000. In addition, of course, a large number are employed indirectly in the -production of materials, transport, etc.
