§ Mr. DUNNICOasked the President of the Board of Education whether his attention has been called to the action taken by the governing bodies of certain charitable and institutional schools in calling upon local authorities to undertake the burden of providing educational facilities for the children resident therein: and whether, in view of the burden that this will impose upon local authorities, he will favourably consider the introduction of amending legislation to remove this anomaly?
§ Mr. E. WOODI am fully alive to the difficulties which have arisen in this connection. As the hon. Gentleman will recognise, the matter is one of some complexity, and I am not in a position to commit the Government to the introduction of amending legislation.
