§ Commander BELLAIRSasked the Minister of Health whether he would consider a provision in the proposed Smoke and Noxious Vapours Abatement Bill, to be introduced in another place, by which the numerous small back premises, such as garages, can be compelled by local authorities to carry their chimneys up to the top of the main buildings to which they belong, so that the smoke can be better carried away and a better combustion obtained?
§ Sir A. MONDI am advised that local authorities already have power to deal with this matter, if they make use of Section 24 of the Public Health Acts Amendment Act, 1907.
