Mr. CHAMBERLAINAs regards the first part of the question, I would refer to the answer which I gave yesterday to the hon. Member for the Scotland Division of Liverpool (Mr. T. P. O'Connor). As regards the second part, I have made further inquiries, and I am informed that the statements made by the Italian Ambassador are entirely inconsistent with the possibility that any subsidiary letters affecting the agreement are in existence.
