But such fees were charged formerly at the Victoria and Albert Museum; and it is proposed to make such charges general at national museums and art galleries on certain days of the week, as recommended by the Committee on National Expenditure. A certain small revenue was obtained in 1920–21 from sales of publications and of old materials. As regards the Imperial Institute, the information is given in the reply of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Colonies on the 16th instant. No fees are charged for admission to the Institute.
