§ Mr. CHURCHILLThe petition referred to by the hon. and gallant Member has been received. A Commission has recently been appointed to inquire into the salaries of the Civil Service in the Colony, and the Governor was accordingly informed that, as the case of the petitioners would presumably be examined by the Commission, the Secretary of State did not propose to intervene in the matter.
