Sir F. HALLasked the Minister of Health whether members of the medical profession undertaking work under the National Health Insurance Acts are in future to be controlled by approved societies, and if he is aware of the strenuous objection of the medical profession to any control by approved societies?
§ Sir A. MONDUnder Section 15 (1) of the National Insurance Act, 1911, the arrangements for the provision of medical benefit in any area have to be made between the Insurance Committee for the area and the medical practitioners in accordance with Regulations of the Minister of Health. It is not intended to modify in any way the provisions of this Sub-section in the Bill which I propose shortly to introduce.
