ROBERTSasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether, in connection with the sale of explosives, any inquiries are made by the Disposals Board as to the purchasers having suitable premises or as to their being able to make satisfactory arrangements for the safe handling of the materials?
Mr. YOUNGI have ascertained that where the purchaser is not known to be authorised to break down, or has no previous experience, inquiries are made, and the contractor is warned that he must satisfy the Home Office, and obtain a licence from them before he can break down ammunition.
