Brigadier-General NICHOLSONasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many Ulster citizens have been kidnapped by the so-called Irish Republican forces during the past month; how many of these persons are detained in gaols under the control of the Provisional Government; and what steps it is proposed to take to safeguard their lives?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLI have received from the Northern Government a list of 11 persons who have been kidnapped within the six northern counties during the past six weeks and have not yet returned to their homes. I am informed that none of these persons is detained in a prison controlled by the Provisional Government, but I am in communication with the Provisional Government with a view to tracing their present whereabouts and obtaining their release.
