§ Mr. MYERSasked the Home Secretary what is the general practice in the case of women being found dead and the body conveyed to the mortuary whether the body is examined and otherwise attended to by men only, even in cases where female attendance is available; and, if so, will he take such steps as will ensure female services being utilised wherever possible?
§ Mr. SHORTTThis is not a matter in which I have jurisdiction, but I understand that the general practice is for all bodies to be searched by the male mortuary keeper.
