GREENasked the Postmaster-General if it is intended to fill the vacancies for sorting clerks in the North-Midland area, and particularly at Derby; and, if so, will preference be given to those men qualified by examination who served in His Majesty's forces instead of, as at present, these men by reason of their war service being superseded by juniors?
§ Mr. PEASEInquiry is being made whether the volume of work justifies the filling of such vacancies, and if it be decided to fill any of them, candidates will be called up from the limited competitions, in accordance with the places which they took in the examination.
