Mr. YOUNGThe collection of the Petrol Tax, which was abolished as from 1st January, 1921, was spread over a very large number of Customs and Excise officers, who performed the work in conjunction with numerous other duties. It is not possible, without making ex haustive inquiry, to estimate the aggregate cost of this particular item of work.
