§ Mr. W. CARTERasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware of the great shortage of dwelling-houses in Nottinghamshire; whether he is aware that owners of dwelling-houses in the county have houses which are purposely kept vacant with the object of selling them at inflated prices; and whether, as these houses are not rated, he will take some measures to amend this reprehensible practice?
§ Sir A. MONDNearly 3,000 houses have been, or are in course of being, erected in the county of Nottingham under the assisted housing scheme. As regards the latter part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave last Thursday to the hon. Member for the Heywood and Radcliffe Division (Mr. Halls).
