HC Deb 09 February 1922 vol 150 cc323-4W
Mr. KENNEDY

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the housing scheme at Kirkcaldy was recently held up on account of an alleged scarcity of slates; whether there is any regulation for which his department is responsible restricting the sources of supply of slates for approved housing schemes; and if he can give any reason for refusing in the case of the Kirkcaldy scheme to sanction the use of an available local supply of slates, in order to avoid delay in the completion of the scheme and to avoid weather damage to the houses in course of construction?

Sir A. MOND

I am making inquiries into this case in conjunction with my right hon. Friend the Secretary for Scotland, and will communicate further with the hon. Member.
