HC Deb 04 December 1922 vol 159 c1256W
Mr. WEIR

asked the First Commissioner of Works, as representing the Secretary for Scotland, whether the vacancy in the Scoitish Land Court will be filled by some person identified with the interests of the crofting class, so as to secure something approaching to a balance between landlord and crofting interests?

Sir J. BAIRD

Members of the Land Court are not appointed to represent, and do not represent, particular interests. My Noble Friend considers that it would not be in the public interests to depart from this salutary rule.
