HC Deb 11 April 1922 vol 153 c260W
Brigadier-General COLVIN

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether the foot-and-mouth disease has sufficiently abated to enable him to forecast the time when the restrictions, which now bear so heavily on the farmers, can be removed?

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

Restrictions are being relaxed, as opportunity offers, in different areas every week, and large sections of the country have already been completely freed. I cannot yet give an indication as to when it will be possible to remove the restrictions entirely from the whole country. It is sometimes possible, however, to forecast tentatively for a particular district the date of the removal of the restrictions, and if my hon. and gallant Friend will inform me of the district in which he is interested I will endeavour to afford him the information desired.
