GRIFFITHSasked the Postmaster-General whether there are six sub-offices in the East-Central district of London with emoluments of more than £500 per annum, exclusive of bonus; and whether, in order to improve public facilities and to give the Post Office direct control over the conditions of the employés, he will cause the sub-offices at Clerkenwell Green, Farringdon Road, 84, Goswell Road, Leather Lane, Old Street, and Tabernacle Street to be converted into branch offices?
§ Mr. KELLAWAYIt is the case that the six sub-offices named have emoluments exceeding £500 per annum, excluding bonus, but, as I intimated to the hon. Member on the 23rd February, the conversion of such offices to branch offices is only at present being carried out where special reasons exist for this course.
