HC Deb 03 March 1921 vol 138 cc2047-8W
Lieut.-Colonel PICKERING

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions the net amount realised on sales for the past three months, exclusive of wool, by the Disposal Board; the amount paid in salaries and wages during the same period; and the amount paid for storage, transport, etc., during that period?

Mr. HOPE

My hon. and gallant Friend will realise that with sales of surplus Government property taking place in India, Mesopotamia, Egypt, etc., it is impossible to give exact figures for the last three months. The approximate cash receipts on sales, excluding wool, for the three months ended 2nd February last was £i6,000,000. Owing to general trade depression and money stringency these receipts were exceptionally low. The approximate amount paid in salaries and wages during the same period was £470,000, and the total transport, storage, etc., charges were £770.000.
