§ Mr. BRIDGEMANI am afraid it is quite impossible to make any estimate of the number of mines damaged by the stoppage to the extent suggested in the hon. and gallant Member's question. In many mines no one has been below ground since 31st March, and the present condition of the workings and roadways is quite unknown. Nor is it possible to estimate the time it will take to un water the mines which are wholly or partially flooded.
