§ Mr. PEASEThe amount paid to employés in the General Post Office postal, telegraph, and telephone services, charged in the Commercial Accounts for the year to the 31st March, 1921, was approximately £45,000,000, divided in the following manner:

Postal £29,900,000 Telegraph £7,000,000 Telephone £8,100,000 £45,000,000 To make up the total wages bill of the Post Office it would be necessary to add certain items amounting in all to £4,400,000, which were chargeable to capital, or recoverable from the savings bank fund.
