HC Deb 02 June 1921 vol 142 c1271W
Mr. J. JONES

asked the President of the Board of Trade if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the wholesale price of imported meat to the retailer has fallen to an appreciable extent; whether, in spite of this fact, the retailer has not reduced his prices to the consumer and in some instances has increased his prices; and whether any steps will be taken to limit these present prices correspondingly with the reduction in the wholesale prices in the interest of the general public?

Mr. BALDWIN

I cannot usefully add anything to the reply given on Tuesday last to a similar question by the hon. Member for Keighley (Mr. Clough).
