§ Dr. MACNAMARAThe returns of prices which form the basis of the index number prepared in this Department relate to the first day of each month. I am unable, therefore, to give figures for the 11th and 26th November; but at 1st November the index number showed a rise, as compared with July, 1914, of 176 per cent., and the corresponding percentages at 1st December, 1st January and 1st February were 169, 165 and 151 respectively.
