§ Mr. CHARLES EDWARDSasked the Minister of Health whether he will take immediate steps to amend paragraph (c) of Section 5 of the Summary Jurisdiction (Married Women's) Act, 1895, so that the £2 mentioned therein be amended so as to make it correspond more nearly to the cost of living, and which is now altogether disproportionate to the wages 1162W earned or capable of being earned at present?
§ Mr. SHORTTMy right hon. Friend has asked me to reply to this question. An Act was passed last Session providing that, in addition to the £2 a husband may now be ordered to pay for the support of his wife, he may also be ordered to pay 10s. a week for each child.
