§ Mr. HAYDAYasked the Minister of Food if the price of flour has fallen 15s. per sack since November; and, if so, in view of the distress in the country due to unemployment, whether he proposes to take any action to secure a reduction in the price of bread?
§ Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSONSince the 27th November the price of flour has been lowered by 17s. per sack of 280 lbs. This should be reflected by a fall of 2d. in the loaf, as bakers' stocks of higher priced flour become exhausted. It is not now feasible to impose a flat price all over the country.
