§ Major M. WOODasked the Chief Secretary if any of the 25 cadets who were dismissed in connection with the Trim looting have yet returned to duty; and how long have they been drawing pay without doing any duty?
§ Mr. HENRYAs I stated yesterday in reply to a question by the hon. Member for the Spennymoor Division (Mr. Galbraith), 18 cadets are to be tried by court-martial in connection with the alleged robbery and looting at Trim. The remaining cadets who were provisionally suspended have been exonerated as a result of the Departmental inquiry now concluded and have returned to their ordinary duty. In regard to the latter part of the question if the hon. and gallant Member will refer to previous questions on this subject he will find that none of the cadets have at any time drawn pay without doing duty, and that except those who were under close arrest they were all engaged on special duties at the headquarters of the Auxiliary Division while awaiting the result of the inquiry.
