HC Deb 18 April 1921 vol 140 cc1555-6W
Lieut.-Colonel POWNALL

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to a statement of the Animal Defence and Anti-vivisection Society, dated! March, 1921, in which it is alleged that horses which have been exported to Belgium are killed in the most inhuman manner; and whether it is possible for him to communicate with the Belgian authorities with a view to adequate supervision being exercised or, in the alternative, to take steps to stop traffic in old horses altogether?

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

I have been asked to reply. I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the reply I gave on the 12th instant to the hon. Members for York (Sir J. Butcher), South Kensington (Sir W. Davison), and Acton (Sir H. Brittain).
