HC Deb 07 April 1921 vol 140 c456W
Mr. MacVEAGH

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the possibility of a railway strike, he will release Irish store cattle from places of landing to farms on licences; and, having regard to the fact that many of them have been already 10 days in lairages, will he arrange for immediate action?

Mr. TOWYN JONES

The effect of releasing these cattle might be so disastrous to the stock industry in Great Britain that the Ministry cannot see its way to adopt the course suggested by the hon. Member.
