HC Deb 07 April 1921 vol 140 c475W
Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has made a grant of £847 to the Southwark metropolitan borough council towards the cost of certain plant, including the purchase of a steam wagon, which cost the borough £1,430; and whether he is aware that there are large numbers of carters and contractors only too anxious to do the work and thus avoid an extention of municipal trading?

Mr. NEAL

A grant has been made as stated in my hon. Friend's question. No question of municipal trading arises.
