HC Deb 07 April 1921 vol 140 c478W
Mr. W. GRAHAM

asked the Minister of Pensions whether his attention has been directed to the hardship of men disabled in former wars being denied treatment allowances for their dependants during the period of medical care in connection with their disablement; whether such treatment allowances for dependants are accorded to men disabled in the late War, although they have married after disablement; and whether it is proposed to continue this distinction against veterans and others disabled in former wars?

Mr. MACPHERSON

The Warrants and Regulations of the Ministry of Pensions make no provisions for the medical treatment of men disabled in former wars, and it is only in exceptional cases that a man would need treatment at this date for a disability incurred so long ago. The question has, however, recently been raised in connection with certain tropical diseases and is now under consideration.
